چکیده

The valorization of Fe-rich fayalite slag (FS) as a precursor for alkali-activated materials (AAMs) is hampered by its low reactivity at ambient temperature. Here, FS was blended with waste-based reactive co-binders such ladle (LS) and blast furnace (BFS) to improve the fresh hardened state properties AAMs potential construction applications. results showed that incorporation LS BFS an additional source Ca Al accelerated reaction kinetics influenced binder gel type formation mechanism. In all mixes, Fe, Si Na are present in evolving gel. addition these elements, formulations also rich higher quantities possible C-A-S-H C-(N)-A-S-H together development andradite, calcium ferrosilicate hydrate phase formed from chemical interaction between co-binders; it indicates both co-binder participated formation. Furthermore, nucleating filling effects improved workability, ultrasonic pulse velocity mechanical properties; this densified structure lowered water absorption permeable porosity mortars. compressive strength mortars above 20 MPa, thus satisfying requirements building according ASTM C62. study emphasize reuse other waste streams producing eco-friendly AAMs, which can have wide range

Limestone Fillers Cement Based Composites: Effects of Blast Furnace Slags on Fresh and Hardened Properties

Limestone filler is a raw material that is already used in several applications like paints, bricks, bituminous mixtures...etc. Moreover, and particularly in Belgium, classical additions for concrete like fly ashes and granulated blast furnace slags are becoming rare; there is a need for new additions that could have a positive effect on the properties of the fresh and hardened cementitous comp...

Effect of Na3PO4 on the Hydration Process of Alkali-Activated Blast Furnace Slag

In recent years, the utilization of different non-traditional cements and composites has been increasing. Alkali-activated cementitious materials, especially those based on the alkali activation of blast furnace slag, have considerable potential for utilization in the building industry. However, alkali-slag cements exhibit very rapid setting times, which are too short in some circumstances, and...

EFFECTS OF SILICA MODULUS AND ALKALI CONCENTRATION ON ACTIVATION OF BLAST-FURNACE SLAG

Abstract: The use of alkali-activated cementitious materials especially over the past decades has significantly been increased. The goal of this research is to investigate the effects of silica modulus and alkali concentration on alkali-activation of blast-furnace slag. In this research, the most important physical characteristics of cementitious systems, i.e. the 28-day compressive strength...
